Chemistry Pool Toy

The Pool Toy has an extended rocker, especially in the back half of the board. Its slightly straighter outline helps with projecting this board in the fast-moving waves of the pool. We found the swallow tail works best with the extended rocker maneuvering the board from rail to rail very quickly. We recommend building your Pool Toy with our Flextronics technology. This will make the board feel very lively in the fresh water without being too buoyant like an epoxy sometimes does.

This is our go to model when traveling to the ever-increasing man-made waves around the world.

With all the hype surrounding freshwater wave pools, and having Chemistry ambassador, Cheyne Magnusson, operating the B.S.R. wave pool in Waco Texas, we decided to build a model catered to freshwater surfing.

The “Pool Toy” was developed by Jason Bennett with the need to create a high-performance board that will fit in the tight pockets of man-made waves

Chemistry Honey Dip

The Honey Dip is a high performance shortboard that excels in about every type of wave.

Extensive Ramp'd went down in the creation of this model with our team riders to create a high performance shortboard that excels in about every type of wave. The blind “taste test” went on for a year while we compiled feedback critical in the design of this model.

The post Chemistry Honey Dip appeared first on Glassing Monkey.

The Honey Dip has a relaxed entry rocker with a single concave feeding into a deep vee off the tail. We widened the tail block ½” more than our standard shortboard models which helped create the straighter outline in the back half of the board for speed unlike any other shortboard we have designed.

The tail also boasts an extreme hip creating a “sweet spot” for increased maneuverability without the loss of speed. Lastly, the fin cluster is pushed back because of the tail width and hip, enabling maximum control without the drifty feel usually associated with wider tail blocks and hips.

Chemistry Chem Zenagain

The Chem Zenagain was spawned by the desire to take our Chem Zen model and give it more of a shortboard feel outside the tube. We left all the forward volume our original Chem Zen had in this model.

The post Chemistry Chem Zenagain appeared first on Glassing Monkey.

With the Chem Zenagain we removed the retro beak, added more nose and tail rocker while widening the tail block This allows the board to fit in the curve of the wave easier and keeps the tail loose. You can choose the Chem Zenagain with or without 4 channels.

The 4 channels give the board a bit more bite on the wave, but not too much where you won’t be able to turn it. The Chem Zenagain is a modern version of a proven design that has been a staple in our line up since 2010.

Bottom contour: double concave to vee or 4 channel

Tail: thumb, baby swallow

Chemistry R2+

Our high-performance steps up shortboard.

Due to the success of our R2, we decided to develop the R2+ based off team rider Barron Mamiya’s need for more rocker on his shortboard to surf in bigger, hollower waves as seen in his 2017 Triple Crown Rookie of the year campaign

The post Chemistry R2+ appeared first on Glassing Monkey.

The R2+ has 1/4” more nose and tail rocker making it excel in top to bottom hollow surf. The R2+ has a single concave like its predecessor, giving the board the maximum amount of drive.

Ride the R2+ as a more performance everyday shortboard or order it bigger as a step up in larger surf.

We recommend a five-fin setup for this model to allow you to ride as a thruster in performance conditions or as a quad when you need that extra speed boost in waves of consequence.

With this combination we found the board to be fast in slower surf yet holds in bigger conditions. The board also has a thicker nose foil which assists in catching waves.

The R2 has been proven to work consistently in all conditions whether you’re surfing a 2-foot beach break or an 8-foot reef.

The R2 model has been ridden and tested by our entire team for many years now. From San Diego beach breaks to the racetrack at Ululate, this board has been put through its paces.

The R2 has a gradual nose and tail rocker as well as a slight single concave throughout the board

The rail line of the Side-A model is a bit lower, so this board will feel “chippier” than our R2 model. This board has an accelerated rocker which allows it to fit well in punchy, curvier waves. The block swallow tail extends the rail line and gives you a definitive pivot point to turn off.

A complement to our B-Side model, Side-A is our new shortboard for 2019.

Our newest performance shortboard in collaboration with Chemistry’s team riders. The Side-A model fits between our user friendly R2 model and our most high-performance board the B-Side. The Side-A has a deep single concave which allows this model to gain speed very quickly. The nose is more pulled in than our R2, and the back half of the outline is a bit straighter which allows you to gain maximum speed effortlessly.

The Zero 2 with all the elements of the previous Zero models with its low entry so planes like a dream but with a slight increase in nose rocker that lifts the rail line up slightly for quick direction changes in steeper parts of the wave on smaller days.

The main design change comes from the single concave to vee off the swallow tail which has made it really whippy in tight pocket sections yet still drivey due to the straighter center line rocker that the Zero models are renowned for, then rounded out with a bit of bite from the swallow tail block.

Generous volume distribution through the deck ensures forgiveness yet slightly tapered in the rail for sensitivity and quicker reaction when put on rail which is vital when performing in steeper small waves. Designed for small wave surfing with a good wave approach would best describe where this model sits in the range.
