Our high-performance steps up shortboard.

Due to the success of our R2, we decided to develop the R2+ based off team rider Barron Mamiya’s need for more rocker on his shortboard to surf in bigger, hollower waves as seen in his 2017 Triple Crown Rookie of the year campaign

The post Chemistry R2+ appeared first on Glassing Monkey.

The R2+ has 1/4” more nose and tail rocker making it excel in top to bottom hollow surf. The R2+ has a single concave like its predecessor, giving the board the maximum amount of drive.

Ride the R2+ as a more performance everyday shortboard or order it bigger as a step up in larger surf.

We recommend a five-fin setup for this model to allow you to ride as a thruster in performance conditions or as a quad when you need that extra speed boost in waves of consequence.

The Liquid Sword is based off our most popular high-performance model the Lights Out. We took the Lights Out model’s overall concept and modified it to perfection.

First, we relaxed the rocker of the entire board, by doing this we have found that the board gains speed easily while performing better in everyday surf

The post Chemistry Liquid Sword appeared first on Glassing Monkey.

We also narrowed the nose width by 1/4″ compared to the Lights Out model. We recommend this model for waist high to overhead surf.

With these minor adjustments and positive feedback from professionals throughout the year, we are proud to release this blade for the public to enjoy.

With all the recent hype on the modern, high performance single fin, we decided to take it to the “next level” of high performance with our version of the Twin Fin.

The Daisho is geared towards performance surfers who are looking for a twin fin without sacrificing shareability. Jason took an old curvy 80’s template that had a neat single wing squash tail mixed with a slightly pulled in nose.

The post Chemistry The Daisho appeared first on Glassing Monkey.

With the absence of a center fin, twin fins tend to be fast but lack pivot off the bottom and top that a center fin provides. With that in mind, Jason added a ton of vee between the fins to simulate the feeling of a small center fin.

This model has the drive and speed of a traditional twin yet can be whipped around like a performance thruster. If you are looking to add more stability, a small trailer can be added to this model. Traditional twin fins tend to need to be “throttled down” when maneuvering or they will slide out and be difficult to control. The Daisho thrives off massive amounts of speed and can harness it easily. A terrific addition to anyone’s quiver as it is easily scalable from 5’0” to 6’6” and 20.0L to 50.0L

Bottom contour: slight single into a deep double concave

Tail: pin, thumb, squash

Designed with team rider Barron Mamiya, this board was developed for his need for an ultra-high-performance board he can ride in contests as well as back home in Hawaii. This board excels in performance driven waves like Lowers, the North Shore, or anything that calls for a blade to be ridden.

"It's super responsive, easy to control, and feels like an extension of your feet," says Jason. It is equipped with a five-fin set-up so it can be ridden as a quad or a thruster. When ordering the Boombastik you can stay close to your standard shortboard dimensions, 1" -2" shorter and 1/2" -3/4" wider. Equally loved as a quad or thruster and utilized as an everyday board worldwide. Designed by Jason Bennett

Bottom: single to double concave with a vee through the tail

Tail: round tail

Jason Bennett and Cheyne Magnusson worked very closely to develop this small wave, high performance board. It has been a staple in our line since 2008 and continues to be one of our best sellers.

The Boombastik’s claim to fame is its ability to create its own speed and maneuver well in the pocket without losing control or sliding out. This model has a wider nose, flatter entry rocker, and boxy rails.

This model generates speed easily while still maintaining control in the pocket.

This board has low rocker in the nose and tail and fuller rails. The tail is a very subtle double bump squash. This board is ridden 2″-3″ shorter and 3/4″- 1″ wider than your standard shortboard.

The post Chemistry Beaker appeared first on Glassing Monkey.

Easily the most successful model in our board line up. The Beaker model’s versatility in 90% of the waves we face every day has made it an ideal choice for someone trying to get the most use out of one board in their quiver.

It is categorized in our small wave line but still performs like a legitimate high-performance board

The bottom contour that has worked best for this model is a slight single concave feeding into a slight double concave.

The Beaker Comp was spawned from the demand to make our Beaker model more high performance.

We took our Beaker model and reduced the overall volume in the nose and tail which has allowed this model to work well in the pocket and react quicker through turns

The post Chemistry Beaker Comp appeared first on Glassing Monkey.

The rocker is still relatively low to help provide that vital speed needed to excel in smaller waves. We also added extremely hard wings compared to the subtle double bumps of the Beaker.

The wings have proven to help the Beaker Comp’s maneuverability in various wave types. This model is a favorite of our team riders giving them the ability to “cheat” in smaller waves without it looking like they are riding fish style boards.

The bottom contour is a deep double barrel concave feeding off the tail. This model works well as a quad or thruster, so it is equipped with a 5-fin set up.

The rail line of the Side-A model is a bit lower, so this board will feel “chippier” than our R2 model.

A complement to our B-Side model, Side-A is our new shortboard for 2019.

Our newest performance shortboard in collaboration with Chemistry’s team riders. The Side-A model fits between our user friendly R2 model and our most high-performance board the B-Side. The Side-A has a deep single concave which allows this model to gain speed very quickly. The nose is more pulled in than our R2, and the back half of the outline is a bit straighter which allows you to gain maximum speed effortlessly.
